If you already visited that place or if you have never visited the place yet, for both of you just imagine a scene of a large lake with snow-capped mountains and you are in a signature Kashmir-style houseboat and around all over full of colors with cold airwaves! Yes, these are the feelings of Kashmir’s Dal Lake. The place is very dreamy and relaxing. So do not waste your time, just pack your bag and catch your dream. 

Besides this, the floating gardens on Dal Lake are more magical. The beauty of this place attracts tourists all over the world and also filmmakers. You can see many popular film directors choose this place for their movie scenes.

How to reach Dal Lake?

Now the question is, where is Dal Lake? The lake called Dal Lake is located in the city of Srinagar. So that it has a good connection in every way. You can find three modes of transport so that you can peacefully make your plans to go to this place without having to worry. Here is some information about Dal lake in Kashmir.

Dal lake by Road –Almost every place has a road connection and the road is decent enough that you can travel by car or bus comfortably. From Jammu, you need to reach Srinagar that takes 8 hours by road. And from there you can easily reach Dal Lake, it is within walking distance. 

• Dal lake by Rails –So if you are a train lover, then this option is for you. You can travel by train to compete for a large distance. You need to catch the train to Jammu Tawi or Udhampur railway station. After that, you need to hire a car or bus to travel to Dal Lake. 

• Dal lake by air –You can easily travel and reach dal lake by air. It will help to save your time also. You need to catch a flight to Srinagar via the Sheikh ul Alam Airport. It will take 50 minutes only to reach your place from there by road.

The place is full of the colors of nature and it makes me feel like a haven. The power of the beauty of nature will erase all sorrows. There are some other wonderful places around the lake that you must need to visit once. Such as,

Things that you must do in Dal lake

If you want to enjoy your life and want to make it memorable then you need to come to Dal Lake at least once. As per my experience here is a small list that you must do at Dal Lake. 

• Stay in a houseboat and it is the most unique experience ever. 

• Walk around Boulevard Street. This one is the main road of Dal Lake. The idea is best for the evening walk. 

• Do visit the morning vegetable market where the local community sells their products in the lake on a boat. This market is known as the floating vegetable market in Srinagar. The market starts at 5:30 AM and ends at 7 to 7:30 AM.

You must go for a Shikararide at Dal lake. After visiting the vegetable market you can plan for this ride. Shikaras In Dal Lake is also a memorable experience. This is the best way to enjoy the lake. Shikara ride in Dal lake cost is very affordable as well.  End of the day, when you feel tired, the beauty of the sunset will again encourage you and bring you back.
